With my year-end bonus I bought a tv for my bedroom, thinking "cool, I can watch shows any time I want." I've got about a dozen movies on my DVR so today was my first day to lie in my bed, propped up with a pillow, and watch "(500) Days of Summer," with Zoe Daschenal because I really like her new show, "That Girl."
To keep the sound down so I didn't bother Moreen reading in the living room, I have the captions on. I've been watching things sitting near the tv for a couple of weeks. But I hadn't tried the watching in bed show. Now, my bed is maybe 10 feet away from the tv so I thought, no problem I'll have the captions.
I couldn't read them from my bed. The words were totally blurry.
OMG I knew my eyesite was going, but I didn't think it would keep me from reading the captions! I was wrong.
So back to sitting in front of the tv, my "relaxing in bed" fantasy was dashed.
Then I remembered I'd taped five Charlie Chaplin movies, and since they're silent movies I don't need captions.
I did get to enjoy my tv from afar.
